The Capital Sports Baseball Team of the Week presented by Capital Ortho features Northwest Rankin senior Dawson Muenzenmay. These players from the Metro area were selected for top performances from the week of April 30 - May 6.

Gavin Bledsoe | Infielder, Pisgah

Pisgah senior shortstop Gavin Bledsoe was 3-4 with three RBI in the Dragons’ 6-5 win over Mize. Bledsoe was 4-10 in the series with five RBI and he reached bace seven times.

Walker Van Meter | Infield, St. Andrews

St. Andrews junior infielder Walker Van Meter was 5-8 at the plate in three games with a triple, a homerun, four runs scored and five RBI. He helped lead St. Andrews to a win over St. Patrick and two wins over Southeast Lauderdale.

J. P. Robertson | Pitcher, Germantown

Germantown senior pitcher J. P. Robertson won two games in the series against Center Hill. Robertson threw two shutouts with 17 total strikeouts and also had a homerun and three RBI at the plate.

Ben Kennedy | Pitcher, Simpson Academy

Simpson Academy sophomore Ben Kennedy struck out eleven batters over 6 ⅔ shutout innings to lead the Cougars to a 7-0 playoff win over Winston Academy. Kennedy allowed five hits with one walk.

Doby Bartling | Infield, Brandon

Brandon senior infielder Doby Bartling was 2-4 with three RBI and a run scored in a 13-2 win over Ocean Springs to advance in the playoffs.

Jackson Clark | Pitcher, Brandon

Brandon sophomore pitcher Jackson Clark threw four shutout innings to get the win in Brandon’s 5-4 win over Ocean Springs that lasted ten innings. Clark gave up four hits and struck out six with no walks.

Montravious Winn | Pitcher, Ridgeland

Ridgeland senior pitcher Montravious Winn struck out 15 batters and allowed no earned runs on one hit over seven innings in the Titans’ 5-4 extra innings win over New Hope.

Dawson Muenzenmay | Outfield/Pitcher, Northwest Rankin

Northwest Rankin senior pitcher Dawson Muenzenmay improved his record to 8-1 with a six-hit shutout at Biloxi. Muenzenmay struck out eight in the 2-0 win.
