GERMANTOWN — Germantown (23-6) senior J.P. Robertson turned in one of his best pitching performances of the season to lift the Mavericks to a 5-0 win over Center Hill (19-12) in the second round of the MHSAA 6A Playoffs. 

Robertson dominated with 14 strikeouts over seven shutout innings. The Pearl River signee allowed three hits and walked just one batter. He struck out eight of the final 11 hitters he faced. 

Junior Drew Harrison had a big night at the plate for Mavericks with two hits and two RBI. Harrison doubled and scored a run. 

Jackson Estes homered in the win and drove in two runs. Jackson Hood was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. 

Center Hill's Hunter Peeks drew the start on the mound and lasted 5.1 innings. Peeks gave up four earned runs on six hits. 

The two teams are currently scheduled to play game 2 of the series Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in Olive Branch.
