2020 JUCO Team of the Week W3

This week’s MACCC Team of the Week features Hinds quarterback BeSean McCray, who threw for 421 yards in a win over Jones last week. McCray completed 41 passes. Hinds, Jones and Pearl River each placed a pair of players on the team.


Quarterback, BeSean McCray / Hinds

Hinds freshman quarterback BeSean McCray (6’, 185) was 41-74 for 421 yards and a touchdown in an 18-16 win over Jones.

All-Purpose, Jakob Greer / Pearl River

Pearl River sophomore quarterback Jakob Greer (6’, 200) completed 11-16 passes for 140 yards with two touchdowns in a 28-21 win over East Central. Greer also rushed 14 times for 44 yards. 

Running Back, Romal Webb / Jones

Jones freshman running back Romal Webb (5’8, 210) rushed for 141 yards on 25 carries with a touchdown in Jones’ 18-16 loss to Hinds.

Wide Receiver, Qua Davis / Itawamba

Itawamba sophomore wide receiver Qua Davis (6’2, 210) hauled in ten receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown in a 16-14 loss to Northwest.



Defensive Line, Mike Cockream / Jones

Jones sophomore Mike Cockream (6’1, 215) is a linebacker but also our defensive line pick this week due to four tackles for loss and three sacks in an 18-16 loss to Hinds. He also had a game-high 12 tackles.

Linebacker, Noah Mitchell / Pearl River

Pearl River sophomore linebacker Noah Mitchell (6’2, 215) chalked up 14 total tackles with a sack and four tackles for loss in a 28-21 win over East Central.

Defensive Back, Tony Washington / Northeast

Northeast sophomore defensive back Tony Washington (6’, 200) racked up seven tackles with a tackle for loss and an interception in a 13-10 win over Coahoma. He also recovered a fumble.



Kicker/Punter, Connor Smith / Hinds

Hinds sophomore placekicker Connor Smith (5’10, 170) was 4-4 on field goals with a game-winner in an 18-16 win over Jones. He had twelve points total.
