This week's MACCC Team of the Week for Week 3 is presented by Capital Ortho and features a pair of players each from East Mississippi, Jones College and Gulf Coast.

 WEEK 3 MACCC TEAM OF THE WEEK

OFFENSE

Quarterback, Jamari Jones / East Mississippi

East Mississippi quarterback Jamari Jones completed 16-22 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions to lead the Lions’ to a 56-3 win over Mississippi Delta. Jones also rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown. 

All-Purpose, La’Damian Webb / Jones

Jones College running back La’Damian Webb rushed 13 times for 131 yards and two touchdowns in the Bobcats’ 33-13 win over East Central.

Running Back, Cam Thomas / Gulf Coast

Gulf Coast running back Cam Thomas needed just 21 carries to rush for 129 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-10 win over Pearl River. Thomas also had three receptions for 19 yards. 

Wide Receiver, Jalen Bracey / Gulf Coast

Gulf Coast wide receiver Jalen Bracey caught seven passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in a 33-10 win over Pearl River.

 

DEFENSE

Defensive Line, Devonyal Lofton / East Mississippi

East Mississippi defensive lineman Devonyal Lofton had six tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks in a 56-3 win over Mississippi Delta. Lofton also forced a fumble.

Linebacker, Kendarian Dixon / Jones

Jones linebacker Kendarian Dixon finished with a game-high nine tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a pass broken up and a 65-yard interception return for touchdown as Jones beat East Central 33-13.

Defensive Back, Khiry Gee  / Hinds

Hinds defensive back Khiry Gee had five total tackles and snagged a pair of interceptions as the Eagles beat Northeast 18-13.

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker/Punter, Bryce Lofton / Co-Lin

Co-Lin sophomore kicker/punter Bryce Lofton handled all kicking duties for the Wolves in a 39-21 win over Southwest. Lofton hit a pair of field goals and scored nine points, averaged 42 yards on five punts, and drilled four of his eight kickoffs into the endzone for touchbacks.
